Explore the life stories of a range of people who lived in a house in Ballarat between 1857 and 2000. Find out where they came from, how they got to Victoria and what they brought with them. Find clues to match objects with their original owners from Scotland, Germany, Greece and India. Answer questions about each of the people to understand why they moved to Ballarat. This learning object is one in a series of six objects.
Objective
1. Students investigate the stories of individuals and groups of people who moved to Australia.
2. Students describe a range of effects that migration has on people.
3. Students identify strategies migrants use to maintain links with the past.
