Explore the life stories of a range of people who lived in a house in Port Adelaide between 1860 and 1956. Find out where they came from, how they got to South Australia and what they brought with them. Find clues to match objects with their original owners from England, Denmark, Ireland and Poland. Answer questions about each of the people to understand why they moved to Port Adelaide. This learning object is one in a series of six objects.
1. Students investigate the stories of individuals and groups of people who moved to Australia.
2. Students describe a range of effects that migration has on people.
3. Students identify strategies migrants use to maintain links with the past.
