Meet a group of Australians and find out their backgrounds. Group them according to gender, languages spoken, jobs or transport used. Explore other ways to group the people. Describe how such groups can be a useful way to understand a community. Consider how some people may belong to more than one group or have characteristics that are not obvious. This learning object is the first in a series of two objects that progressively increase in difficulty.
