Module 3 of the Philippine Politics and Governance class
aims to teach the learners how laws are created by the
legislative body and how ordinary citizens can also be
part of proposing, reforming, and repealing laws.
This module touches on Filipino citizenship, and a
Filipino citizen’s corresponding duties and
responsibilities. The module also serves as an
introduction to Civil Society Organizations and how they
play an important role in nation-building, good
governance, and the preservation of democracy.
Objective
This module aims to:
● differentiate the political ideologies;
● discuss and explain the concept, role, and contributions of civil societies and social movements to Philippine democracy;
● assess the various avenues for citizen participation; and
● illustrate the value of active citizenship through the political lens.
