Investigate the advantages and disadvantages of allowing shops to trade on Sundays in a small coastal town. Review three points of view on the issue and the arguments that support them. Gather opinions from a consultant and local residents such as a fisherman and a supermarket owner. Consider issues of personal and social wellbeing, employment and other economic effects. Create a web page which supports your point of view. This learning object is one in a series of two objects.
Objective

Students compare the personal, social and economic values that come into conflict when Sunday trading is proposed in a regional town.
Students develop a web page that uses images and text to support their point of view on Sunday trading in a regional town.
