This Learning Resource is a project of the Learning Resource Management and Development Unit, Curriculum Implementation Division, Schools Division of Kalinga in response to the implementation of the K to 12 Curriculum. It is written by Karen B. Wandaga from Rizal National School of Arts and Trades of Rizal District. This material enlightens us citizens who lives in a self-governing society to be vigilant and responsible to every action we take, either to our home or community. It will also remind us to exercise democratic practices and always find interventions to uplift equal rights for humanity. Democracy values the people’s civil and political rights. These rights serve as the cornerstone of democratic institutions.
