Objective
1. To build a strong foundation in literacy and numeracy among learners.
2. Obtain an acceptable level of literacy and numeracy that can significantly enhance learners' achievement through its use in many areas of their lives.
3. Introduce a range of teaching strategies that promote literacy and numeracy and how becoming literate and numerate expands the learners' opportunities to access a more comprehensive understanding.
4. Examine the knowledge and skills that all teachers, regardless of learning area and teaching level, need to understand to help learners gain these fundamental skills necessary to succeed in learning and life.
