The Short story entitled "The Mother and the Lion" is patterned through fable which is characterized by animals but have a moral lesson. In the story, the mother represents anybody who is caring and loving to others, whereas the Lion represents lazy individual who do es nothing . The competencies that can be tapped or improved are reading , listening and synthesizing which are vital components to hone and mold a student holistically.
