Description
Help sort pairs of shapes in the Shape factory. Examine examples of basic shapes that belong in the Yes set. Examine examples of basic shapes that do not belong in the set. Work out what features of the shapes are important and test your ideas by sorting some shapes. Then program the robot and see if it sorts the shapes correctly. This learning object is one in a series of six objects. Two objects in the series are also packaged as a combined learning object.
Objective
Students apply inductive reasoning to identify congruence of 2D shapes.
Students identify the geometric properties that characterize a set of shapes.
