Description
Help sort single shapes, or pairs of shapes, in the shape factory. Examine examples of shapes that belong in the Yes set. Examine examples of shapes that do not belong in the set. Work out what features of the shapes are important and test your ideas by sorting some shapes. Then program the robot and see if it sorts the shapes correctly. This learning object is the second in a series of seven objects.
Objective
Students apply inductive reasoning to identify rotational symmetry or similarity of 2D shapes.
Students compare shape features in order to identify the geometric properties that define a set of shapes.
