Test your understanding of food chains in a forest habitat. Select living things to complete three elements of a food chain. For example, select grass with seeds as the producer that provides food to a bandicoot, which becomes food for a dingo. View and print a report on your work. This assessment object is one in a series of three objects.

Students classify living things as producers (plants) and consumers (herbivores, carnivores, omnivores).
Students identify plants as direct converters of energy from the Sun into a form (food) that can be consumed by other living things.
Students describe the flow of energy along food chains from producers to consumers.
Students construct simple food chains by selecting elements from a number of options to form several possible pathways.
Students interpret a food web.
