The Self Learning Module (SLM) is intended for the Grade 8 Learners in the Science Technology and Engineering Curriculum (STE). Biotechnology is one of the “Add-ons” subjects offered to grade 8 STE learners. This SLM is for quarter 2, week 5 lesson (Module 5). The module is composed of the EXPLORE part where the competency and the objectives are found. The LEARN part is composed of the review activity and the discussion part of the lesson. The ENGAGE part are series of activities for the learners to perform based on what they have learned from the lesson. The APPLICATION part of the module provides activity/ies for the learners to relate the lesson to practical applications. The ASSESSMENT part provides for concept check test items and answer key which are aligned to the learning objectives. ANSWER KEY is provided at the last part of the module in order for the learners to self-check their answers.
