"The Basa Pilipinas LAC Trigger Videos are materials developed to aid School Heads/Leaders in the facilitation of Basa Literacy Learning Action Cell (Basa LLAC) Sessions. They are used as springboard to the discussion of Reading-Writing-Instruction-related issues, with the goal of addressing them at the end of every session.
Video 8 – Invented Spelling
Dramatization of parents during a parent-teacher conference and asking the teacher why she accepted invented spelling in their child’s work. Teacher explains to the parent how pupils in the class are encouraged to write. However, she only expects them to correctly spell grade level words. Teacher can also highlight the importance of letting very young students experience success in the classroom.
