Description
Captain the Metrix spacecraft on a mission to collect valuable minerals from the dust of a comet's tail. Use the metric measurement tables for mass, length and capacity to help you make unit conversions. The decisions you make will impact the success of the mission. (For example, to ensure a successful launch, select the millilitre equivalent of 50 cm3 of rocket fuel additive.) Race to beat two other spacecraft to collect the riches in the comet's tail. This learning object is the first in a series of six learning objects.
Objective
Students apply knowledge of relationships in metric measurement by converting between units of mass, length and capacity.
Students interpret terminology for mass, length and capacity to solve problems.
