Shape overlays: picture studio

Learning Material  |  Interactive Lesson

Description
Position two simple shapes to form an overlap, then cut out that new shape. For example, lay a rectangle over a circle to make a semicircle. Make several shapes. Rotate the shapes and move them around to make pictures. Build a new picture or match an existing picture such as a fish or a truck. This learning object is the last in a series of four objects that progressively increase in difficulty.
Objective
Students manipulate 2D shapes through sliding and overlapping, to create other 2D shapes.
