Café consultant: attract customer groups

Test market demand for a café business. Survey customers and record their preferences for menu items, opening hours, look and feel. Identify the business choices most likely to succeed. For example, open a bright and funky café at dinner time serving omelettes, muffins and stir-fry dishes. Look closely at sales figures and make adjustments. This learning object is the first in a series of three objects that progressively increase in difficulty.
1. Students explore how retail profitability is related to customer demand and unit costs.
2. Students analyse sales results and adjust production volumes and prices accordingly.
3. Students test business ideas and respond to market feedback.
