Description
This material is composed of activities aimed to develop learners' skill in determining the difference between geometric and coordinate proofs as well as in deriving the standard form of the equation of the circle.
Objective
1. to define and illustrate coordinate proof

2. to verify some properties of triangles and quadrilaterals by using coordinate proof

3. to determine the difference between geometric proofs and coordinate proof

4. to illustrate the general form of the equation of the circle in a coordinate plane

5. to derive the standard form of the equation of the circle from the given general form

6. to find the coordinate of the center of the circle and its radius given the equation

7. to determine the equation of a circle given its
a. center and radius
b. radius and the point of tangency with the given line

8. to analyze and solve problems involving circles
