Transport across a cell membrane is a tightly regulated process because cell function is highly dependent on maintaining strict concentrations of various molecules. When molecules move down its concentration gradient, it is participating in passive transport. When it is moving up the concentration, it requires energy making it an active transport.
Objective
1.1.Lists the different transport mechanism;
2. Discusses the different types of transport mechanism;
3. Interprets the different diagrams of transport mechanisms;
4. Differentiates passive transport from active transport;
5. Justifies the relation of transport mechanism to real life applications;
6. Formulates situation where transport mechanism are useful in everyday activities.
