This storybook is a DEPED-USAID’S BASA PILIPINAS Leveled Reader in Filipino. This is considered relatively challenging (or 2-dots) books for intermediate to advance beginning readers. These books have higher word count, more low frequency words, long and more complex sentence, and more sophisticated language (i.e. use of figures of speech). Furthermore, this can help build vocabulary, develop decoding strategies and word recognition skills, learn the structure of narrative or expository texts, develop fluency, and foster love of reading. Below is the synopsis of texts/stories in this 2-dot Leveled Reader. Misteryo sa Villa Soledad: Cousins Nona and Gabriel go on an adventure in Vigan, Ilocos Sur. From the streets of ancient Calle Crisologo to the mysterious disappearance of historical items in their aunt’s mansion, Nona and Gabriel find themselves in the thick of action. Nona and Gabriel intend to solve the puzzle and find the thief.
