Explore sets of hiragana that have similar appearance but contain subtle stroke differences, such as ? and ?. Pair up the hiragana that match exactly. Build your knowledge of hiragana by checking their shapes and sounds. Work your way through five groups of four hiragana. This learning object is one in a series of six objects. It is also packaged as part of a combined learning object.
Objective
1. Students identify matching hiragana from sets of hiragana with similar structure.
2. Students notice that hiragana that look similar have different sounds.
3. Students distinguish between different hiragana that have subtle variations in strokes.
4. Students build their knowledge of the meanings and sounds of hiragana.
