This module discusses the aftermath of World War II, the international community’s urgent need for fostering global peace and cooperation. The war, which lasted from 1939 to 1945, brought unprecedented destruction, loss of life, and suffering on a global scale. It left nations shattered, economies in ruins, and societies deeply scarred. The horrors of the war served as a stark reminder of the dangers of ultranationalism, totalitarianism, and the failure of diplomacy. As a result, a new era of peace has emerged, driven by the collective desire to prevent such a catastrophic event from ever happening again.
