In the quiet village of Bagong Pag-asa, there was a stray dog without a home or a name. The villagers liked dogs with
fancy papers, so this little dog felt a bit left out. One day, while trying to snatch a bite from a market vendor, the scruffy dog caught the attention of Mang Dolfo. He saw a longing for friendship in the dog's eyes and decided to take it home. Mang Dolfo gave the dog a cozy spot to stay, yummy food, and a feeling of belonging. Even though the dog was happy, it still felt a bit incomplete because it didn't have a name. The other dogs teased it for not having one. But Mang Dolfo didn't rush; he wanted to find the perfect name. Days turned into weeks, and the dog followed Mang Dolfo everywhere, hoping for a name that would make it feel complete. One night, a strange smell filled the air. The dog barked and barked until Mang Dolfo woke up. Oh no! The kitchen was on fire! Mang Dolfo hurried to put out the flames, and the little dog stayed right by his side.
After the crisis, Mang Dolfo looked at the dog with a grateful smile, "You're my hero." That's when Mang Dolfo knew
it was time. "From now on, your name is Bayani," he said with love in his voice. Bayani's tail wagged happily because, finally, he had a name! A name that meant hero. From that day on, Bayani lived a life filled with love and warmth. No more wandering the streets, no more being nameless. Bagong Pag-asa had a hero, and everyone knew
his name – Bayani.
