In the previous lesson, you have learned the nature and characteristics of Philippine folk dance and mastered the fundamental arms and feet position. Today, you will be learning Cariñosa folk dance.
Let us go over on some concepts that you have learned previously which has something to do with the dance movements involved in Cariñosa dance.
Dance Term
1. ARMS IN REVERSE “T” – arms are horizontal elbows bent at Right angles, forearms parallel to the head palms facing in ward.
2. CLOSE STEP – it has a step pattern of step, close
3. KUMINTANG -Moving the hand from the wrist either clockwise or in counter clockwise direction.
4. SALUDO - Partners bow to each other to opposite dancers or to the audience.
5. PARTNER - Girl to right of Boy and Boy to left of Girl.
6. TOUCH STEP – It has a step pattern of point, close.
