This Basa Pilipinas Teacher’s Guide is an instructional tool intended for the use of Grade 1 teachers. Its purpose is to help teachers develop Grade 1 pupils’ Oral Language, Phonological Awareness, Alphabet Knowledge, Phonics and Word Recognition, Grammar Awareness, Vocabulary Development, Listening Comprehension, Attitude Towards Reading, and Study Skills in Mother Tongue (Sinugbuanong Binisaya).
