SCIEtorya is a portmanteau combining "Science" and "torya,"- inspired by the Filipino word kuwentorya — itself a blend of "kwento," meaning "story" or Science stories, primarily serve as a remediation material to improve the science performance of Grade 7 learners in Science 7, Quarter 3.
Objective
Week 1:
• Define Force.
• Describe the effects of forces on objects.
• Identify the different forces acting on an object.
Week 2:
• Define force as a vector quantity.
• Visually represent a force using a force diagram or free-body diagram.
Week 3:
• Differentiate balanced and unbalanced forces.
• Relate firsthand experiences to the effects of balanced and unbalanced forces on the motion of objects.
• Recognize that when forces are not balanced, they can cause changes in an object’s speed or direction of motion.
Week 4:
• Describe the motion of an object in terms of distance and displacement.
• Differentiate distance (total path traveled) and displacement (shortest path between start and end points).
• Differentiate speed and velocity.
• Solve basic problems involving speed and velocity.
Week 5:
• Describe uniform velocity.
• Interpret uniform velocity using distance-time graphs.
Week 6:
• Differentiate heat and temperature.
• Determine the concept of energy transfer in relation to heat and temperature.
• Classify materials as conductors or insulators of heat and electricity.
Week 7:
• Describe the three methods of heat transfer: conduction, convection, and radiation.
• Cite examples of each method in everyday situations.
Week 8:
• Apply concepts of heat transfer (conduction, convection, and radiation) to save energy in everyday life.
• Recognize ways to improve energy efficiency in homes and buildings by using knowledge of heat transfer.
